Frequently Asked Questions

Call: 410 - 814 - 1180

Q: What types of stone do you supply?

A: We work primarily with granite, marble, quartz surfaces such as Viatera, Cambria, Silestone, Q Quartz, Corian Quartz, Venezia quartz and many generic quartz brands (just as good as name brands).

Q: Do you repair damaged stone?

A: Yes we do repairs regardless of which company installed it.

Q: What is the complete process?

A: A kitchen layout is drawn up by the customer or Accurate Granite. The customer decides what granite/quartz color(s) they would like to get prices for; what edge profile they want; what sink(s) they want, whether they want a backsplash made from the same stone or none. With this information, Accurate Granite works out a price for each color stone the customer is interested in. If the price is right and the customer wants to move forward, a contract is signed and a deposit

A: Consider factors such as durability, maintenance needs, aesthetics, budget, and functionality. Assess your lifestyle and cooking habits to determine which material best suits your needs.

Q: What factors influence the cost of kitchen countertops?

A: Cost is affected by material quality, installation complexity, edge treatments, size of the area, and any special features like sink cutouts.

Q: How long does countertop installation typically take?

A: Installation time varies but generally takes 1-3 days, depending on the complexity of the project and the material chosen.

Q: Which countertop materials are most durable?

A: Quartz and granite are known for their exceptional durability. Engineered stone and ultra-compact surfaces also offer high resistance to scratches, heat, and stains.

Q: Do all countertops require sealing?

Q: Can countertops be customized for specific sizes and shapes?

A: Yes, most countertop materials can be customized to fit specific sizes and shapes. Working with experienced fabricators ensures precise measurements and tailored solutions.

Q: What should I know about countertop seams?

A: Seams are often necessary for large areas or complex layouts. While they can't be eliminated entirely, skilled installers can minimize their visibility.

Q: Can marble be used as a kitchen countertop?

A: While marble can be used in kitchens, it's not typically recommended due to its porous nature and susceptibility to scratches and stains. It requires more maintenance than other materials.
